Happy Monday beautiful people! I have previously talked about going into 2015 with goals to achieve ultimate simplicity and minimalism. Besides the lifestyle point of view (see ‘A Minimal Lifestyle’ here), what does minimalism mean to the wardrobe? Trick question…
Italian Designer Massimo Vignelli gives a beautiful definition:
“Minimalism is not a style, it is an attitude, a way of being. It’s a fundamental reaction to noise, visual noise, disorder, vulgarity. Minimalism is the pursuit of the essence of things, not the appearance. Minimalism is beyond time. It is timelessness.”
“Minimalism is not a style. It is an attitude, a way of being.” For me, fashion is an escapism in which this way of being is reflected. My minimalistic ideology is reflected in my style, for style should say who you are. This is where my wardrobe comes in.
I found this gray wool top from Zara in their Studio Collection. I absolutely love its structure! Its boxy fit with wide half-length sleeves add to its unique style and Its loose high neck puts a spin on traditional turtlenecks.
To give more of a casual edge to such a structured top I paired it with my favorite distressed high-waisted BDG jeans.
The wool high neck just like any turtleneck is sure to keep you warm and cozy through out the day.
Matched with a darker gray wool coat by Eileen Fisher, my YSL bag that fits all essentials and my favorite pair of 3.1 Phillip Lim leather heels. This look is comfortable (yes the heels are extremely comfortable!!) stylish and timeless.
