A Minimalistic New Lifestyle (for the New Year)

Happy first Monday of 2015! I am really excited to get this year into gear, I have a great feeling about what 2015 has to offer! 🙂 I mentioned in a previous post a few of my new years resolutions, but I would say my biggest resolution is to achieve ultimate simplicity and minimalism, and I already have a few ideas how I’m going to go about this.

Minimalism is the intentional promotion of the things we most value and the removal of anything that distracts us from it. So I’m first going to start with my possessions to de-clutter my physical life. Along with this, I am going to sort through all of my clothes and narrow my wardrobe down to 20 timeless items. Sounds scary but when I have less to work with, I am able to not only have more time getting ready in the morning and easier travel, but it will allow me to expand my creativity when styling looks together.

Apart from the physicality of it all and as I have mentioned in previous posts, over the past year I have been working on strengthening my mind. I have continued the practice of tapping in overwhelming times and stress to restore my body’s energy, along with constantly being aware of energies around me. These are definitely two practices I plan to perfect this new year.

Simplicity is complex. It is never simple to keep things simple. Simple solutions require the most advanced thinking because as humans we naturally tend to complicate; and going against our norms is not easy. Edit your life frequently and ruthlessly. It’s your masterpiece after all.
